Just because a story is online, doesn't mean it's true. The internet is great, but can also be used to spread misleading news and content. Make sure you know what you’re sharing. Don’t feed the beast.

Parents & Carers

At Harris Primary Academy Benson, we believe in the importance of a strong partnership between the Academy and our families.

We therefore try to look for as many opportunities as possible to encourage our parents and carers to play a greater role in their child’s education.

Each term you will receive a Curriculum Map and Curriculum Letter which will detail what your child will be learning in that term (these can also be found via Curriculum - Year Groups - select Class - see downloads on our website). They show what is going to be taught and how parents and carers can support at home.

Our newsletters are sent regularly to keep you informed of what is happening at the Academy with important dates for the diary.

We regularly send out emails and update information on our website and Twitter to keep parents informed of news on the Academy.

Parents are invited to a variety of events throughout the year including Christmas Carols, PTA events, finale days where parents are invited to see their child's work, Sports Days, workshops to support learning at home and Parents Evenings.

The Teacher's and Principal's doors are always open for parents or carers to come and have a chat if they are free. Teachers are available after school as the mornings are more difficult as they will be teaching. If not, its always possible to ask one of the office staff to book an appointment.
